Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Incan Empire, ca. 1200 to 1532 CE. A fine rectangular comb with 18 lengthy prongs. Each side of the upper body is decorated with incised linear and stepped motifs, and the handle finial depicts a seated monkey with its hands wrapped around a segmented kero. Nice brown patina covers the entire comb. Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 3.2" W x 6.7" H (8.1 cm x 17 cm); 8" H (20.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Southern California, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to mid-1980s
