Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca, ca. 1300 CE - 1500 CE. Magnificently adorned Incan double sided silver effigy. Traditionally, these biface pieces are found in male/female pairs and commonly naked but sometimes clothed in miniature costumes. When clothed, the vestments are quite elaborate befitting an elite member of society prepared for extreme climates such as snowcapped mountains or coastal deserts. This is a very rare conjoined male and female. Moreover, they are rarely found in silver. 4.92 cm long x 2.38 cm wide.
