Description:

Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Lakota / Dakota (Sioux) or Cheyenne, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. An impressive club with a double-pointed stone head inlaid with lead and red catlinite, and bound to a wood handle. The head strap and handle are covered with beadwork - tiny seed beads in Cheyenne pink, blue, white, green yellow, black, and red. This was a symbolic war club that was held during dances or other ritualistic events. Size: 25.5" L x 8" W (64.8 cm x 20.3 cm)
