**First Time At Auction**

Elbridge J. Fenn (American, 1857-1934). Forest landscape. Oil on board, n.d. Signed "E.J. Fenn" at lower left. A beautiful painting of a tranquil forest landscape by American artist Elbridge J. Fenn, rendered in liberal, open brushstrokes reminiscent of the Impressionistic movement as well as natural hues of verdant greens and woody browns. A slender stream cascades forth from the center left of the midground, running over some fallen logs and gray stones worn smooth from the water, all surrounded by towering pines and deciduous trees. Speckles of wildflowers scatter across areas of the forest floor, adding colorful accents to the lush, green composition. A serene painting fit in a gold-colored wood frame with a suspension wire on verso for easy display! Size of painting: 28.25" W x 16.25" H (71.8 cm x 41.3 cm); with frame: 33" W x 21" H (83.8 cm x 53.3 cm)
