Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste-Nicoya, Period IV, ca. 200 to 600 CE. Wonderful translucent jade axe god in abstract human form. String cut and drilled features including twin crocodilian attachments at top of head, drilled eyes and edges of mouth with extended tongue in which an "infinity" motif has been incised; hands crossed at waist; drilled laterally for suspension and pronounced central ridge on reverse. This stone is an nincrediby beautiful medium green. Custom stand available for modest fee. Size: 1.875" W x 6" H (4.8 cm x 15.2 cm)
