Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Loma Negra, Moche, ca. 100 CE. In a word, WOW! This copper lance is sure to slay (pun intended) anyone who lays their eyes upon it! An enormous copper lance of an extremely long, conical form that resolves in an intimidating point at one end, skillfully made from heavy copper sheet that has developed a gorgeous green and azurite patina over the ages. An impressive example that likely belonged to a warrior or lord who was highly regarded. Size: 20.5" H (52.1 cm); 21.375" H (54.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection; ex-private Hans Juergen Westermann collection, Germany, collected from 1950 to 1960s
