Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An enormous vessel comprised of blue-green glass, presenting a somewhat flattened orb-shaped body with a tall tubular neck, all upon a concave base. The walls are relatively thick as this vessel was intended to hold quite a volume of liquid - perhaps olive oil or wine! Truly an outstanding piece of Roman glass - remarkable for its size and condition. Simple yet elegant, the bottle presents vibrant coloration that is enhanced with mesmerizing swirls of sparkling rainbow and silvery iridescence. Size: 5.25" deep x 8.125" W x 11.875" H (13.3 cm x 20.6 cm x 30.2 cm)
