Central Asia, Pakistan, near Nagar, ca. millions of years ago. A stunning aquamarine crystal of an enormous size that showcases its pale, robin's egg blue color throughout its crystalline matrix. The translucent crystal has incredibly smooth faces in some areas as well as rougher surfaces along some walls and the upper and lower peripheries, and several beige-hued crystalline structures have formed around the surfaces. A beryl mineral, aquamarine has been a cherished stone thought to increase the happiness of married couples through the calming colors and reflective properties. Aquamarine (from the Latin aqua marinus, meaning "water of the sea") is a mineral mainly found in granite quarries that makes for elegant and attractive jewelry. A fabulous example of raw aquamarine!
