Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Aztec, ca. 1300 to 1532 CE. A hand-knapped chert blade of an elongated petaloid form with slightly convex faces, sharpened edges, and a tapered tip. The butt end displays a portion of the original tang that would have been wrapped with hide strips and used as a handle or secured atop a lengthy pole and utilized as a spear blade. Size: 12.875" L x 3.375" W (32.7 cm x 8.6 cm)
