Oceania, Polynesia, likely Fiji Islands, ca. mid-20th century CE. A massive pair of broad fans comprised of woven palm fronds; sun dried with warm beige hues. Traditionally palm leaf fans were used for keeping cool, swatting away flies, as signs of prestige, and fanning cooking fires. These are perfect as decorative wall hangings.
