Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Navajo (Dine), ca. early 20th century CE. A large, hand-woven area rug crafted from sheep's wool, featuring a striking eye dazzler pattern. The stepped and zigzag lines create a dynamic visual effect, giving the illusion of expansion and vibration - hence the name "eye dazzler." This rug was woven using a traditional Navajo technique known as "section lines" (or "lazy lines"), where the weaver works in individual sections rather than a continuous back-and-forth motion. The result is the distinctive diagonal joins characteristic of this method. Size: 90" L x 51" W (228.6 cm x 129.5 cm)
