Description:

Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A stunning, free-blown translucent glass vessel tinged with pale yellow hues and presenting incredibly reflective (indeed mirror-like) golden and rainbow iridescence. The jug presents a beautiful form comprised of a cylindrical body with a dramatically turned shoulder, rising to a tubular neck that gently bulges at the middle and resolves to a wide mouth with an underfold beneath the wide, tooled and flattened rim; a thick trailed handle joins the upper neck to the shoulder. All stands upon a slightly concave base. One the most mesmerizing forms, with incredible translucency and iridescence of glistening gold and colorful hues - blue, yellow, pink, green, purple, and more! Size: 4.625" in diameter x 5.125" H (11.7 cm x 13 cm)
