Description:

Native American, Western United States, California, Maidu, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A large handwoven basket with a flared rim and linear motifs. The basket is woven tightly in coils to the left, from vegetal fronds in light tan and brown hues. A wavy, zigzag line in dark brown encircles the basket below the rim. Around the mid-section are four short horizontal lines in dark brown, evenly spaced around the sides. Size: 18.3" W x 9" H (46.5 cm x 22.9 cm)
