Description:

Pre-Columbian, south coast of Peru, Huari (Wari) culture, ca. 500 to 1000 CE. A charming mold-made ceramic effigy figure in the form of a standing woman. She has a thick body with relief hands that press against her chest. Her face looks slightly upward, with large eyes and a small nose and mouth. A rounded cap, painted red with a black hem, is on her head. Red and black lines and shapes give the impression of tattoos or other decoration on her body. The figure is a rattle that is still functional! Size: 4.75" W x 9.25" H (12.1 cm x 23.5 cm)
