Wayland Namingha (Native American, Hopi, late 20th century to present), ca. 21st century CE. A hand-carved maiden figure of a Kachin Mana made from cottonwood and yarn with brightly painted details. She has the characteristic maiden coiffure of side whorls and fringe, a yellow and red face with a striped, black face mask. Her clothing consists of calf high white boots, a striped, white mantle over a black dress with red and green stripes. In her hand is the green yarn - a symbol of harvest, which indicates this might be Hemis Mana. Size: 3.75" L x 4" W x 10.5" H (9.5 cm x 10.2 cm x 26.7 cm)
