Israel, Samartian, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. This petite and attractive terracotta vessel is comprised of a concave base with a raised central dot, rough sides, rounded shoulders with several abstract palm branch motifs, a small tab-shaped thumb rest, small and jagged fill hole, a tapering neck channel featuring two semi-circular linear designs, and a small and flared wick spout. Traces of visible original red surface pigmentation remain. Size: 3.5" L x 2.375" W x 1" H (8.9 cm x 6 cm x 2.5 cm).

Provenance: private Ventura, California, USA collection acquired before 1980
