Ancient Art. Near East, Holyland, Iron Age I, ca. 1200 to 1000 BCE. A well-proportioned buff ceramic pitcher, wheel-made, with a bulbous body. Standing on a diminutive round foot, the neck mirrors the form of the foot, drawn inward from the wide body. The neck flares outward into a pronounced rim, and a narrow handle flows from the edge of the rim to the shoulder. An charming example of a very ancient form. Size: 5.5" W x 7.9" H (14 cm x 20.1 cm)
