Holyland, ca. 1st millenium BCE. A circular hard stone platter, made of a gray basalt with volcanic surface, with an incised border and raised up on three legs. It may have been used for utilitarian purposes or as a religious item. It was a very important piece of technology to these early peoples. Compare with a nearly identical example (also without the pestle) in the Jewish Museum, NY. Size: 10.5" W x 4" H (26.7 cm x 10.2 cm)
