Ancient Near East, The Levant, Syro-Hittite culture, ca. late 3rd to early 2nd millennium BCE; northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A wonderful pair of ancient artifacts: ram-headed finial from Hittite culture and a Luristan conical cloak pin topped with a quadruped. Both are skillfully crafted with incised geometric designs adorning the flattened body of the finial and linear motifs embellishing the cloak pin. Size of largest (Luristan pin): 1.5" W x 4.5" H (3.8 cm x 11.4 cm)

Provenance: private New York Collection, USA, acquired prior to 1974
