Anonymous, United States, mid 1930s. A large historical photograph of the Golden Gate Bridge before its completion. The composition includes a critical access road; extending from Fort Baker pier, the construction of a 1700-foot-long access road began to access the construction sites for the Marin anchorage, pier, and tower. Construction of the landmark bridge took 4 years and 4 1/2 months. The work began on January 5, 1933 and opened to vehicles on May 28, 1937. An impressive, historical photograph that captured this construction process, mounted behind glass in an attractive frame.   • Condition: Photograph is mounted behind glass in an attractive frame and has not been examined outside the frame. Appears with age wear - some crease marks and possible tears - but the image is still strong. Frame has a few nicks/scuffs but is otherwise in very good condition and fit with suspension wire.
