Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A beautiful piriform handled jug with a flattened, rolled rim and a dark iridescent patina. After the invention of blown glass in the first century CE, glass became easy to mass produce as well as cheaper, and so glass items entered everyday Roman life for the majority of householders. Size: 2.25" W x 4.75" H (5.7 cm x 12.1 cm)
