Description:

North Pacific, Hawaii, ca. late 20th century CE. An absolutely gorgeous bowl with an upper section shaped to resemble a blooming rose, hand-carved from finely-grained koa wood. The vessel has a concave, three-footed base which is textured on the exterior, a constricted base, tall walls which emulate layered rose petals, an asymmetrically-carved rim, and a deep tondo. The wood grain exhibits stunning caramel, toffee, and espresso hues, and the interior of the bowl is incredibly smooth to the touch as a result of meticulous polishing. A beautiful example of classic Hawaiian wood-turning! Size: 6.6" Diameter x 6.2" H (16.8 cm x 15.7 cm)
