China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A breathtakingly beautiful pair of bronze bracelets, adorned with finely painted gold and silver stylized geometric and spiral motifs on both sides. The ornate decorative program of these examples as well as their small scale indicates that they were created as royal bracelets for a child or a petite woman. Custom silk-lined bamboo case.
