Description:

Henry W. Brewer "Bird's Eye View of Plymouth, Stonehouse, and Devonport", ca. 1890s CE. Signed H.W. Brewer in the plate on lower right corner. H.W. Brewer was well known for his aeriel views of topographical panoramas. He was also the favorite perspectivist of the famous architect George Frederick Bodley. This image is a very detailed view of late 19th century Plymouth, England. In the bottom margin there is a key to various places of interest in the image. It would be interesting to compare this 1890s Plymouth to the Plymouth of today. A wonderful example of H.W. Brewer's architectural aerial vistas that was a supplement to Harper's Weekly and has the original folds. Size: 39.75" W x 15.625" H (101 cm x 39.7 cm)
