Description:

Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 200 BCE. An interesting anthropomorphic effigy that is hand-carved from mottled sage green stone with forest green, pistachio, beige, and light citrine inclusions. The bulbous figure presents with a string-cut groove between the legs, a pair of arms that are nearly flush against the sides, and a gently string-cut neckline. The enlarged head is of an oblong form with petite eyes and mouth, and the brow terminates in a smooth, conical bulge on top. Size: 2.25" W x 3.625" H (5.7 cm x 9.2 cm); 6.7" H (17 cm) on included custom stand.
