Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A hand-carved greenstone figure of characteristically abstract form shown in a seated position. Smooth, string-cut grooves create the overall physiognomy while petite eyes and a slender mouth comprise the minimalist visage. Facial features on figures like this example are relatively rare, making this is an interesting example! Size: 1.625" W x 3.7" H (4.1 cm x 9.4 cm)
