Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A wonderful and wearable necklace composed of 18 tubular beads carved from mottled forest-green stone with light-green, grey, and scattered citrine inclusions. Two smaller beads near the center depict abstract anthropomorphic heads, and the central pendant exhibits an abstract serpentine head with a conical snout and slit-form eyes. An attractive and wearable necklace capped with a modern gold-filled loop and lobster clasp combo. Size (necklace): 27.25" L (69.2 cm); (largest bead): 2.2" L (5.6 cm).
