**Originally Listed At $400**

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala, ca. 500 to 200 BCE. A fine abstract anthropomorphic head, hand-carved from a mottled pistachio-hued greenstone with both light and dark inclusions. The countenance is defined by a prominent nose, recessed almond eyes, full lips, and flush cheeks, with the corners of the wide brow being lobed, rounded, and perforated for suspension. Each of the raised facial details is formed using the meticulous string-cutting technique and then gradually sanded until the surface bears a smooth and lustrous sheen.
