Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Guangala culture, ca. 400 BCE to 200 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel of a tall, cylindrical form accentuated with highly burnished surfaces and orange-red slip. The figural elements are applied to or molded from the pottery body with bent arms and legs, a tapered neckline, coffee-bean-shaped eyes, perky ears, an impressed mouth, and a thick rim surrounding the interior. Size: 3.1" W x 6.875" H (7.9 cm x 17.5 cm)

Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966
