Central Asia, Afghanistan / Pakistan, Kuchi (Kochi) culture, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A collection of 9 'gul' rosettes, each adorned with meticulously hand-stitched beadwork on thick wool, felt, or cotton cloth backings. The word gul means flower, and these medallions are traditionally used to embelish textiles or garments. Size: 4.5" Diameter x 0.5" W (11.4 cm x 1.3 cm)
