Description:

Peru, ca. 1665 to 1697 CE. These coins were minted under the "authority" of Spain and transported from Peru to fill the Spanish royalties coffer and to fund wars against England and France. Each are 1 real denomination and show dating and fine details on both sides. Many have been clipped, almost certainly while they were in circulation, by people wishing to make money from raw silver. Size: each is about 20mm in diameter and weigh between 2.4 and 3.1 grams of almost pure silver.
