Description:

Ancient Rome, ca. 2nd century CE. Interesting lot of five different medical instruments all crafted from solid bronze and with interesting patinas - particularly the tweezers whose bluer patina indicates a high presence of tin in the copper alloy. The other items are a scalpel and several probes. Size: 4-1/2" to 6-1/4" in length (11.5 to 16 cm).

Provenance: Ex-private UK collection.
