Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Colima and Mixtec, ca. 300 BCE to 1000 CE. Very fine lot of Pre-Columbian objects. First, adorable miniature pottery whistling bead in the form of a bird. By far the smallest whistle we have ever seen at 1-1/4" L. Along with two black stone beads, each in lozenge form with biconical holes, plus a large blackware pottery ear spool, slightly flared on one end. Finally, a rare Mixtec bone carving of a serpent. Wonderfully detailed with lovely glossy patina. Size: 2-1/16" L for bone carving and ear spool. Provenance: Ex-private Houston, TX collection acquired locally at auction or art gallery between 1984 and 1999. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. #108208
