Ancient Near East, The Levant, Syro-Hittite culture, ca. 2nd millennium BCE. A set of 4 pottery fragments from larger figures including 3 heads as well as a head and upper torso. Each artifact bears characteristic Syro-Hittite features such as circular eyes and abstract faces reminiscent of birds, each with an intriguing headdress or coiffure as well. Size of largest: 0.9" L x 1.6" W x 1.875" H (2.3 cm x 4.1 cm x 4.8 cm); 2.7" H (6.9 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995
