Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE; Valley of Mexico, Mixtec people, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A set of 3 copper tools from ancient Mesoamerica. First is a Chimu copper celt with a broad, crescent-shaped blade edge. Next are 2 Mixtec copper tools including a lengthy celt with a pointed butt end and a spade-shaped blade head that is perhaps utilitarian in form. Each artifact is covered in layers of naturally-occurring patina. Size of largest: 8.2" L x 1.9" W (20.8 cm x 4.8 cm)
