Greece, western empire, ca. 4th century BCE. Lovely tall seated female goddess reminiscent of the protomes found from this region. Seated goddess, probably Demeter, wearing tall headdress or crown, long flowing hair, simple beaded necklace, simple hands emerging from her garment with all other features left reserved. She sits on a long-legged throne, toes acting as the front supports. Rare in this style! Size: 5.125" W x 10.5" H (13 cm x 26.7 cm)
