Description:

Ancient Greece, Hellenistic, ca. 3rd century BCE. A mold-made terracotta bust of the goddess Aphrodite with traces of white and beige pigment remaining. Her oval face presents delicate features including almond-shaped eyes, an aquiline nose, heart-shaped lips, and softly contoured cheeks - all framed by a wavy coiffure with an upraised, almost bow-shaped front section (very similar to the style of the Venus Mazarin's coiffure), a low chignon at the nape of her neck, and flowing tresses over her shoulders - truly an ideal of feminine beauty. Size: 4" H (10.2 cm)
