Asia Minor, Greek Anatolia (Turkey), Mysia, Pergamon, Hellenistic period, ca. 263 to 241 BCE. A fine silver AR tetradrachm coin struck during Eumenes I reign, 263 to 241 BCE. Obverse: Laureate head of Philetairos right. Reverse: Greek inscription for Philetairos and a bow, Athena enthroned left holding a spear, placing hand on shield, left arm is resting on a sphinx, and monogram on the throne. Philetairos (Philetaerus) 343-263 BCE, was the founder of the Attalid Dynasty in Pergamon, and uncle to Eumenes I. Size: 1.12" Diameter (2.8 cm); silver quality: 98.7%; weight: 17 grams
