Description:

Northern Greece, Macedonia, together with Thrace and sometimes Thessaly and Epirus, ca. 4th Century BCE. Matching necklace and choker of bronze and silver, with intricately designed beads. Choker is composed of three bead columns strung next to each other, with tear drop shaped pendants with designs hanging down from them. Similar pendants can be found on the choker of Philip II of Macedon. On necklace, large toggle beads are divided by small glass spacers. Necklace is about 36"L; Choker is about 15"L.

Provenance: Ex-private J. Connell collection originally acquired at auction.
