Ancient Greece / Asia Minor, Ionia, Ephesus, ca. 390 to 330 BCE. A very fine silver tetradrachm - a Rhodian weight standard - displaying an obverse of a bee with straight wings flanked by the Greek letters epsilon and phi, all surrounded by a dotted border. Alternatively, the reverse presents the forepart of a stag facing right with his head turned back and a palm tree behind him. To the right of the stag is the Greek inscription "THRASYLACHOS" or "THRASYLAKHOS." Size: 0.905" Diameter x 0.1895" W (2.3 cm x 0.5 cm); silver quality: 98%; weight: 14.9 grams
