Description:

Ancient Greece, Hellenistic Period, Syro-Palestinian coast, ca. late 2nd to early 1st century BCE. A dazzling mold-formed bowl fashioned from translucent glass of golden amber hues. Conical in form, the elegant dish displays a round base and thick, straight walls that rise to a broad, circular rim. The interior walls of the bowl are embellished by a series of 3 lovely wheel-cut bands. A very special example perhaps intended to resemble rock crystal given its hue and translucency! Size: 6.125" in diameter x 3.5" H (15.6 cm x 8.9 cm); 4.75" H (12.1 cm) on included custom stand.
