Description:

Greek, Hellenistic period, ca. 323 to 31 BCE. A mold-made terracotta female wearing a lovely chiton with folds of drapery cascading over her body and a high headdress. She is holding an animal - perhaps a dog or a deer - in her right hand. Given this she may represent Artemis, goddess of the hunt, wild animals, the moon, and fertility. Size: 6" H (15.2 cm); 7.5" H (19 cm) on included custom stand.
