Description:

Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. late 4th to 1st century BCE. A fascinating mold made ceramic figure of a seated nude with a large stomach - possibly a pregnant woman - with her legs crouched beneath her. The figure is covered overall with a red slip and may have been a votive made for praying for luck in childbirth. Size: 2" W x 3" H (5.1 cm x 7.6 cm)
