Description:

Greece, late Hellenistic period, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. An exquisite necklace strung in modern times using ancient Greek gold, carnelian inlays, and garnet beads. The necklace features polished globular garnets arranged with delicate gold spacer beads, accented with dangling gold orbs, and a stunning central pendant. The triangular-shaped setting is inlaid with thin carnelian discs set in circular bezels adorned with fine granulation. Three additional settings hang below, enhancing the design. The golden spheres are reminiscent of pomegranate fruit, while the garnet beads evoke the look of ripe seeds, creating a beautiful and symbolic piece!
