Greece, late Hellenistic period, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A gorgeous and high-quality ancient gold and garnet pendant of hollow barrel shape with two thick loops atop for attachment. The front and back are accented with twisted braided rope accents, and the flat cut garnet is set in a formfitting bezel lip. This could be strung on a chain and worn today if desired! Size: 0.62" L x 0.5" W (1.6 cm x 1.3 cm); weight: 3.8 grams
