Description:

Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. An earring of annular form with an ear wire and sheet-foil figure of Eros, the winged god of love, shaped from 86.08% gold (equivalent to 20K+) as he presents with his head raised and legs stretched back as if in flight. A pair of petite wings flanks his back, and the original ear wire is connected beneath his feet. A modern ear wire is attached to enable wearability. Size: 0.45" L x 0.28" W x 0.6" H (1.1 cm x 0.7 cm x 1.5 cm); gold quality: 86.08% (equivalent to 20K+); weight: 1.4 grams.
