Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A fine pair of earrings comprised of 92% gold (equivalent to 22K+ gold) with original suspension pins curving around the bulbous bodies. Each earring body depicts a stylized gazelle head with a small snout, wide ovoid eyes, upright ears, and a conical, fluted lower body. The gazelle heads have two adjustable horns atop their heads, though one is missing. A modern gold shepherd's hook is wrapped around the original suspension pins and enable these earrings to be worn for any occasion. Size: 0.625" W x 0.625" H (1.6 cm x 1.6 cm); quality of gold: 92% (equivalent to 22K+); total weight: 2.3 grams.
