Description:

Greece, Southern Italy, northern Apulia, Daunia, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A horn-handled polychrome wine ladle with geometric decorations and a round, shallow bowl painted with thick bands of black and red encircling the interior and exterior. The vertical strap handle boasts a small tab projecting upward between the horns, and a set of eyes and thick painted stripes adorn the front below a lattice-patterned panel. Within the center of the tondo is a trio of chevron motifs. Size: 5.3" W x 5" H (13.5 cm x 12.7 cm).
