Description:

Cyprus, Early to Middle Bronze Age, ca. 2200 to 1700 BCE. A beautifully simple bowl of Red Polished decoration with a small lugged projection. The body has a red slip with a thin black stripe for decoration around the exterior of the rim. The black stripe, rather than being strongly defined, fades into the red in a cloudy line that looks like smoke hanging above a sunset. The black rim and red body style is associated with the Vounous culture, after the large excavation of two cemeteries from the Early Bronze Age there. Size: 7" W x 4.5" H (17.8 cm x 11.4 cm)
