Description:

Ancient Greece / Corinth, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A set of 3 wheel-thrown pottery vessels from the ancient world. Included is a Corinthian skyphos bearing bands of black and red pigment atop the beige-hued body, an Attic black-ground lekythos with a collared spout, and an Attic skyphos decorated with a band of laurel around the midsection. The skyphoi were likely used for consuming small amounts of liquid, and the lekythos was used to hold perfumes or scented oils. Size of largest (Attic skyphos): 3.1" L x 4.75" W x 2.5" H (7.9 cm x 12.1 cm x 6.4 cm)

Provenance: private West Hollywood, California, USA collection; ex-private old American collection, before 2000
